The Eitri Foundry Mission

Electricity is a commodity that has traditionally been generated and distributed by electrical utilities. However, in times of increasing energy prices and drastic changes in global climate, our mission is to give our partners the ability to efficiently place control back into the hands of local communities and the entities that consume the electricity.

Eitri (pronounced "E-tree") Foundry was named after the dwarf from Norse mythology that had forged Thor’s hammer. Similar to Thor’s legendary hammer, which grants the user the ability to control lightning, Eitri Foundry aims to develop and build projects that grant system hosts the ability to harness electricity for their own benefit.

Eitri Foundry was created by a group of like minded individuals who strive to promote the deployment of clean energy technology in a distributed generation and small utility manner. Utilizing their varied backgrounds and experiences, members of Eitri Foundry have recognized various small improvements to a complex transaction that ultimately can stack to vertically integrate into a much more streamlined service and cost effective product to our clients.

Strategy

Anyone who has worked in the solar industry has seen their fair share of projects stall and falter. Project development has various pitfalls in financing, engineering, permitting and legal structuring that are not always obvious from the start. Learning from over 40 years of combined industry experience, Eitri Foundry was formed to mitigate as much risk as possible without jeopardizing our streamlined ability to bring projects to completion. As a result, Eitri Foundry has been able to successfully bring all it's projects to completion within one year of contract execution.

While Eitri Foundry tries to take on as much responsibility as possible to reduce execution risk, we understand that a critical component to making these projects work is the support and cooperation from local communities and professional partners. We prefer to look at every project as a partnership rather than as a transaction between a client and service provider. By upholding transparency as one of our core values, we strive to create long, sustainable, and mutually beneficial relationships with each partner we work with.

Solar project development still has to operate within the confines of local regulation, and may be improved by local incentives. Working within the restrictions of regulations while stacking benefits of local incentives makes sure that we are able to deliver a top quality project in the shortest amount of time possible.

In working with real estate owners and agents in developing greenfield projects the past few years has also taught us to look for certain conditions within properties. Understanding the requirements around interconnection, environment, civil works and sub-surface conditions help us to reduce the risk of running into obstacles throughout the development process.

Having a full team of electrical engineers allows us to tackle technical issues and solve challenging problems in house. Beyond reactionary problem solving, our team of engineers also look to improve system design for longevity, durability and reliability.
